| I based my purchase on several pieces of info. The primary influence was the Z Harry built for DPSA and the results they achieved with far more traction and horsepower than I aspired to make. Second was the replacement cost of consumables. Hawk pads in all compounds were available for both the Wilwood and Stoptech kits, but the Willwood sizes were noticeably cheaper, as were replacement rotor rings. I'm not sure how much track experience you have, but one of the first things I learned was my biggest obstacle was the cash it took to get in the door each weekend. The last deciding factor was weight. When I made my purchase, the Akebono kit had just become available. It was immediately ruled out as an option for me because the on piece rotors were very, very heavy and I was not willing to pay that penalty. Some two-piece rotors are now available, but I believe they cost a pretty penny. I've since removed the Wilwood kit, installed the fronts on my street car with Hawk HPS pads and sold the rear kit to Eric, Spdrmn15, who uses it along with the front for autoX and track duty. He had some inital bias issues and pad overheating, but was able to correct them with better pad selection. To my knowledge, he has not installed the proportioning valve I gave him. One last note about the Wilwood kit. Installation of the rear kit takes a bit of commitment. Sawing off the caliper mounting tabs on the rear aluminum uprights is a 5 min job with a swazall. Removing the parking brake assembly isn't too bad either once you've fumbled with the first side. However, if for any reason you decide to go back, replacing the rear uprights is a pain.
